Ehu & Kai Adventures: Kayak, SUP and Outrigger Canoe Tours
Come and visit the pristine waters of the Kealakekua Bay State Historical Park with Ehu and Kai, a family-owned tour and equipment rental business. We have been providing kayak rentals, stand up paddle boards (SUP) and guided outrigger canoe tours of the bay since 1997.
Kealakekua Bay is one of the most historic and beautiful places in Hawai’i. At the north end is the Captain Cook Monument, with the waters off the monument providing excellent snorkeling conditions and hundreds of fish and aquatic species you will only find in Hawai’i. Be on the lookout for Hawai’ian spinner dolphins. These waters are best accessed through a guided tour of the Bay on our catamaran or by a self-guided tour on a kayak.
Ehu and Kai is here to make your kayak and SUP rental easy. We are the only kayak and SUP rental business at Kealakekua Bay. With Ehu and Kai, all you have to do is give us a call, we’ll have your rental waiting for you at the Bay. This means you will not have to drive to a location miles from the bay, strap a kayak to your vehicle and then drive to the bay and unload your kayak. We have a launch site conveniently located at Kealakekua Bay, so you just show up, enjoy your day on the water, and then leave your kayak or SUP with us when you’re done.
Why choose Ehu and Kai for your Kealakekua Bay tour or kayak rental? We are the only rental and tour company run by residents of the Bay. It is our home, our history and the waters where we learned to swim, to paddle and to fish. We strive to teach, to protect and to share the beauty and history of the bay every day. We would be honored if you choose us for your kayak or SUP rental.
Finding Ehu and Kai is easy. Our shop is located at 81-6641 Mamalahoa Hwy, about 10 miles south of Kailua Village and about 10 miles north of Kealakekua Bay. Call ahead and we’ll have your kayak or paddle board ready for you. For catamaran tours call and we’ll work with your schedule to create a unique, fun-filled adventure of a lifetime.
Our Story
In 1997, Harry Alu had a dream to share the beauty of his home with others. Raised in the beautiful Napo’opo’o, Harry went on to create Ehu and Kai to serve as an outlet to share the beauty of Kealakekua Bay with others. After Harry’s passing in 2006, Ehu and Kai were then taken over by his brother, Peter. Peter has continued to grow Ehu and Kai over the last decade into the business that it is today.
Since its inception, Ehu and Kai has been a family owned and operated business and continues to grow each and everyday.
